Aloha Tofu participated in the 3rd Annual Ukulele Picnic on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Kaka’ako Waterfront Park.  It was a beautiful, sunny day with many people in attendance.  There were many booths selling tasty, aromatic foods and lots of local products to tempt you.  The music flowed all day long as talented children “strummed their stuff”  and engaging professional entertained us.  The Aloha Tofu booth sold out of our Sesame Rice with Soy Beans and almost all of its Yudofu & Tofu Mousse.  We had so much fun, we can’t wait to do it again next year!  We hope to see you there too!

Aloha Tofu will have a food booth at the 3rd Annual Ukulele Picnic in Hawaii 2011 at Kaka’ako Waterfront Park on Sunday, February 13th from 9 am to sunset.  Admission is free.  There will be free round trip shuttle service from DFS Galleria Waikiki to the park.  Stop by our booth to get Tofu Mousse in Original, Chocolate & a surprise flavor, Oboro, and Sesame Rice with Soybeans.  Taste-test three flavors of imported shoyu from Japan – Dashi, Smoke & Yuzu Ponzu.

The Ukulele Picnic originally started in 2000 in Shonan, Japan by Kazuyuki Sekiguchi whose mission is to expand the love of Ukulele through concerts in Japan and throughout the world.  It arrived in Honolulu in 2009 bringing the message “Peace”, “Friendship” and “Love of Ohana (family)”.  To get more information about the picnic, go to www.ukulelepicnichawaii.org.

Aloha Tofu’s presence was tasted at the opening day of Hawaii’s legislature.  On Senator Mike Gabbard’s buffet table was Mama Gabbard’s BBQ Tofu dish.  Everyone loved it!  The Senator and his wife are vegetarians who are wonderful supporters of Aloha Tofu products!  Congratulations to the Senator on the start of another year with the legislature!
